Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA)
Located downtown Edmonton, the AGA offers exhibitions, artisit talks, art workshops, art classes, film nights and more! Check out the AGA calendar to find something you would like to do.
You can take a tour, in Spanish, French or English and even an Arts Hive art therapy session (partnered with St. Stephen's College). Visit AGA's gift shop for some crafty and distinctive gifts.

Ballet Edmonton
Ballet Edmonton performances take place at the Triffo Theatre, Allard Hall MacEwan University and consist of international young artists performing contemporary works by emerging choreographers.

Citadel Theatre
Live professional theatre offered in different venues in downtown Edmonton, the Citadel Theatre offers both traditional and modern works for theatre-goers. Students can register in advance to purchase accessibly-priced tickets for the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the run of the show at either 20$ or 25$ (depending on whether the show is a play or a musical).
Alberta Blue Cross has presented a new Pay What you Choose program, which allows people who would normally be unable to attend theatre, due to cost, to pay a lower price for two tickets, in order to enjoy a show.

Edmonton Opera
The Edmonton Opera offers contemporary and traditional operas at different locations around the City -- at the Jubilee Auditorium, Triffo Theatre, and the Citadel.
They also offer casual performances over beer at the Opera Pub at the Blue Chair Café every last Wednesday of the month at 7 PM, where opera performers will show up and perform.
Students are invited to enjoy the Magic of Opera free. For students under 21, and to celebrate their 60th anniversary, the Edmonton Opera is offering free tickets. Find out more.
Metro Cinema
A non-profit charitible organization, this cinema shows cult classics, vintage films, and independant new releases. Located a few blocks from the University, in the Garneau Theatre, the Metro Cinema offers inexpensive $11 tickets for students and also offers volunteer opportunities. You can also check out the Gateway for one free viewing a month during September to April.

Rapid Fire Theatre
This improv theatre did many shows at the GSA during COVID. Now they are back in a new theatre in Strathcona, off of Whyte Ave. Shows begin at etiher 8 PM or 10:30 PM and tickets are available for students at a very affordable $10 price-point!

Royal Alberta Museum (RAM)
The Royal Alberta Museum is located downtown Edmonton. It does not have a student rate, but does have an annual Mammoth Pass for $35, which would allow you to go to the museum an unlimited number of times throughout the year. In addition, admission is free twice annually, for all -- on Family Day, in February, and Alberta Days, in late September.

Winspear Centre
The Winspear Centre is located downtown Edmonton and is home to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, which performs traditional pieces as well as movie soundtracks. Popular bands and artists also take the stage at the Winspear. Check out the calendar of events.
Symphony lovers in the 18-35 age group can benefit from a special program entitled ESO Encounters, which launched on October 3rd. The program, created by the Winspear's Youth Leadership Council, offers free membership, discounted tickets ($25), free pre-concert receptions (including food and guest speakers), and a free coat check!
There are volunteer opportunities at the Winspear and mentorship opportunities during July in the form of the Rusty Musicians Camp (a week-long camp) and the Rusty Musicians B-Sides (one-night). These opportunities are geared towards musicians 18 and older who play an instrument but may be a little rusty. It offers a chance to re-learn the instrument from an artist in the orchestra. The camp takes place at the Winspear Centre. Registration is now closed for July 2024, but watch for registration to open for next year.
